Templul lui Debod: un templu egiptean antic

În Parcul La Montaña (aproape de Plaza de España), vizitatorii pot descoperi un templu egiptean antic. Un cadou din Egipt, mulțumit pentru ajutorul Spaniei în salvarea templelor Abu Simbel în timpul construirii barajului Aswan, Templul Debod a fost adus la Madrid în 1968. Templul a fost construit pentru regele Adikhalamani în secolul al II-lea î.Hr. și a fost dedicat zeului și zeiței egiptene, Amon și Isis. Decorurile originale bine conservate se găsesc în interiorul templului, lucru rar pentru un sit arheologic. Grădinile liniștite din jurul monumentului au piscine reflectorizante și o fântână, creând un efect magic.
